Register for Newnan Citizen Academy

The Newnan Citizen Academy is a program that provides information and education to residents, business owners and property owners about all aspects of the city's government structure. The program provides participants with information, resources, and the tools needed to become knowledgeable community members.

Program Overview/Description:
  • 9-course program beginning in February 2020
  • Each session is 2 hours, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm

Program Objectives:
  • To provide an introduction to city officials, leadership and staff
  • To provide information, materials, and resources that will help to enable citizens to understand how each department makes up the city's government, serves the city, and the processes involved
  • To create citizen engagement that fosters a working relationship between the residents of Newnan and local government 

  • Applicants must be a resident, work or own a business within the City of Newnan
  • Must be at least 18 years or older
  • Must be able to attend at least 8 out of the 9 sessions offered
