Sanitation Route Pick Up Schedule
City Sanitation Pick-Up Update as of 4/07/2021: The City of Newnan and GFL will be picking up garbage on the regular schedule . If you have any questions, please email or or call the City of Newnan Sanitation Department at 770-253-0327 x245. Please know that we are experiencing some phone issues.

Solid Waste Update as of 3/30/2021: The city's solid waste contractor, GFL (formerly Waste Industries) has placed dumpsters at the following locations for storm-affected area residents to place household garbage: First Avenue Park, Armory Road at LaGrange Street, and Howard Warner Community Center. This service is being made available while routine service is disrupted.

City Building Department Updates
City Building Department Update as of 4/1/2021: The City of Newnan's Building Department will begin issuing permits related directly to storm remediation (demolition, construction, roofing, etc.) on Tuesday, March 30, 2021. The City will be issuing storm-related permits out of the following locations:
**Newnan City Hall, 2nd Floor Building Department, 25 LaGrange Street, Newnan, GA 30263; Hours: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
**Howard Warner Community Center, Parking Lot - Mobile Permitting Unit, 55 Savannah Street, Newnan, GA 30263, Hours: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm  <- This Location has now closed as of 4/1/2021. Thank you!
Contractors must be licensed.
The City will require that all construction-related materials be placed on private property to allow for continued debris removal. Construction materials placed in the rights-of-way are subject to removal. The City of Newnan is not responsible for damaged or removed construction items placed in rights-of-way. Non-storm-related permitting will continue at Newnan City Hall only.

For anyone wanting to make donations, the Coweta County Fairgrounds will be open all week from 9 am - 4 pm to accept donations. The following items are needed: NEW Blankets, Towels, Washcloths, Sleeping Bags, Underwear, Socks for all ages (no used items will be accepted), can openers, air mattresses, preemie diapers, sugar-free drinks, kids toothbrushes and toothpaste, XL and XXL adult diapers, plastic bins, flashlights.

Local Resource List and Supply Distribution Information 
If you are in need of non-perishable food, basic supplies, showers*, laundry* or counseling, please visit the Coweta County Fairgrounds (275 Pine Road, Newnan) from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm daily. Not able to get to the fairgrounds? School buses will circulate the following locations at the top of every hour daily from 9 am - 3 pm to transport citizens in need of resources to the Fairgrounds. If you cannot get to one of these locations and need assistance, please call 678-340-0790.

Newnan Mail Post Office Weather-Related Mail Delivery Holds, Updated as of 4/1/2021:
  • Mail delivery has been halted in certain parts of the community due to post-storm conditions.
  • The local community has been notified via various platforms that mail delivery is halted, where its currently being held, and is available for pickup.
  • Newnan Main Post Office is holding all mail for customers impacted at the local facility located at 60 Postal Parkway, Newnan, GA 30263
  • Customers with proper identification can pick up their mail during the following hours:
    • Monday - Friday: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
    • Saturday: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
  • Crews are on-site working to clear debris throughout the impacted area, which could take up to 60-90 days.
  • Alternate options are to be determined in order to provide more accessible and convenient ways for customers to retrieve their mail (more info to come).
