City Sanitation Pick-Up Update as of 5/12/2021: The City of Newnan and GFL will be picking up garbage on the regular schedule. City Building Department Updates
City Building Department Update as of 4/1/2021: The City of Newnan's Building Department will begin issuing permits related directly to storm remediation (demolition, construction, roofing, etc.) on Tuesday, March 30, 2021. The City will be issuing storm-related permits out of the following locations:
**Newnan City Hall, 2nd Floor Building Department, 25 LaGrange Street, Newnan, GA 30263; Hours: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Contractors must be licensed.
The City will require that all construction-related materials be placed on private property to allow for continued debris removal. Construction materials placed in the rights-of-way are subject to removal. The City of Newnan is not responsible for damaged or removed construction items placed in rights-of-way. Non-storm-related permitting will continue at Newnan City Hall only.

If you are interested in volunteering and serving the community in need, please call 910-632-3309 for more information. The volunteer hotline is open from 8 am to 8 pm.
U.S. Small Business Administration Update:
The U.S. Small Business Administration is back in Newnan through August 27 to help those affected by the March 26 tornado as they navigate the disaster loan application process. SBA representatives are available at the Newnan-Coweta Chamber from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday this week. This FAQ from the SBA explains what it takes to begin the loan application process and answer some of the questions you may have.

Newnan Mail Post Office Weather-Related Mail Delivery Holds, Updated as of 4/1/2021: 
  • Mail delivery has been halted in certain parts of the community due to post-storm conditions.
  • The local community has been notified via various platforms that mail delivery is halted, where its currently being held, and is available for pickup.
  • Newnan Main Post Office is holding all mail for customers impacted at the local facility located at 60 Postal Parkway, Newnan, GA 30263
  • Customers with proper identification can pick up their mail during the following hours:
    • Monday - Friday: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
    • Saturday: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
  • Crews are on-site working to clear debris throughout the impacted area, which could take up to 60-90 days.
  • Alternate options are to be determined in order to provide more accessible and convenient ways for customers to retrieve their mail (more info to come).
