City Clerk

The mission of the City Clerk is to keep and maintain records of the Council and of the City of Newnan, including minutes, ordinances, resolutions, contracts and other vital documents, and perform other duties as may be required by the Council.  Council meeting agendas (including minutes) can be accessed by clicking here.

The City Clerk also processes the City's bi-weekly payroll and handles all associated reporting.  You may access the Employee's Retirement Handbook.

The City Clerk is responsible for maintaining official records of the City, including the recording of proceedings of City Council meetings and records of Council action. She records all ordinances in the City Code of Ordinances and all resolutions in the Resolution book. She is the custodian of the corporate seal of the City and is the officer authorized to use and authenticate it. The City Clerk is the custodian of all official records of the City.

Additionally, the City Clerk works in cooperation with the Board of Elections in planning elections. She is responsible for maintaining and filing the Campaign Contribution Disclosure and Financial Disclosure Statements required by Mayor and Council during the year in a timely manner to the State Ethics Commission. The City Clerk also works with Voter Registration.
